How a pair of 3D printed earrings is made
Nothing on this site exists until you order it. Here is what happens between the button and the letterbox.
1. You choose a design and a colour
Every product page has a colour picker with the filaments we currently have on the shelf. Pick one and the picture recolours to show you roughly how the pair will look. Designs that are printed in more than one part let you choose a colour for each part separately.
2. We print the pair
The design is sliced for the printer and printed as a matched pair on a Bambu Lab printer, in the filament you chose. Most pairs take well under an hour on the bed; larger, multi-part designs take longer. The pair is then checked by hand, cleaned of any support material, and fitted with its findings.
3. We pack and post it
Pairs ship from New Delhi by India Post across the country. Shipping is worked out at checkout from your pincode, and is free on larger orders. Details are on the shipping and returns page.
What they are made of
PLA and PETG (Numakers filament). PLA is a plant-derived plastic that prints crisply and takes colour beautifully; PETG is a little tougher and is what our translucent and glitter shades are made from. Both are light: a full pair usually weighs less than a coin.
Looking after them
- Keep them away from heat. PLA softens above about 60 °C, so do not leave a pair on a car dashboard or near a stove.
- Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid perfume, nail-polish remover and other solvents on the printed surface.
- Store them flat or hanging; a thin printed part can snap if it is crushed in a bag.
Where the designs come from
Each design is licensed from an independent creator on MakerWorld and printed under that licence, with the creator credited on the product page. More on that on the about page.
